About Me

I was born and raised in Cheshire and after many years working successfully in the commercial world, I realised that my strengths lay within the relationships I built with people, both colleagues and clients. I wanted to re-direct these skills into something more in tune with my personality and my desire to help people.

After many years of re-training, I am a fully qualified Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.  At all times I adopt the BACP values of integrity and respect and their website provides comprehensive information on all aspects of counselling.  www.bacp.co.uk

I am an Integrative Practitioner and aim to provide the conditions required for a Client to begin to develop their own inner resources to help enable a resolution to their problems.  I sometimes draw upon other approaches such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and TA (Transactional Analysis). This will always depend on the needs of my Client and each unique counselling relationship is tailored to suit the thoughts and feelings of my Client.  I offer a confidential, professional and non-judgemental counselling environment where I hope that together, we will be able to bring about the change and/or understanding of yourself that you desire.

I also currently volunteer part-time as a Counsellor in the Cancer Resource Centre at the Macclesfield District General Hospital where I work on a one-to-one basis with both cancer patients and their families.
